It's been awhile and full of a lot of adventure. My adventure into full time adulting began about 3 years ago. I began working for my father, attorney Kevin Staker, at his estate planning law firm in Camarillo, California. It was the beginning of my continuing adventure into the field of estate planning law. He really has taught me all that I know and gave me an amazing opportunity. I am now still a practicing Paralegal at an estate planning law firm. But I have grown wings and flew out of the "nest."

It's been a long road through hell and back.

Wow. I haven't written in this thing in awhile. That is because 2 days after my last post I was blindsided and lost yet another job. It through me into a depression so dark and so deep I never thought I would get out of. I gained 38 pounds in those next months. I sat for many hours in my bed unable to move. It took doctors, parents, a wonderful brother and friends to make me stop crying and see the light of day again. Literally the light of day. Now isn't great. I realize I can never gain back what I lost. I hurt, like everyone does at some point in their lives, and I take solace that only God can get me through it. As James Frey once said "if you are going through hell just keep going." Or maybe it was Winston Churchill.

Will Brad Pitt ever be in a Lifetime Movie.

I was flipping through channels the other day and I landed on the Lifetime Network. I saw Rob Lowe in one of the movies and I thought who would be the least likely person to be in a Lifetime movie. I came up with Brad Pitt.

I hope Mr. Pitt's career would never stoop as low as to having to be in a Lifetime movie. Although more noticeable people have filmed one i.e. Mariska Hargitay. Mr. Pitt's movie choices have been a bit rough, to say the least. A cop chasing a serial killer in Seven. A mind bending psychological thriller in Twelve Monkeys. I guess the closest he has come to a Lifetime movie was The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. But I thought that movie was weird.

His high profile life and potentially endless career, as well as the royalties he gets from all his current movies, will probably make it so he never has to make a Lifetime movie. But who knows what his future may bring. Maybe 5 more kids.

Sickness - BAH!

I started getting a stuffy nose the other day and blamed it on allergies. Then I got a little cough and blamed it on my throat being dry. Now I have a scratchy throat and know I am sick. So I am eating Zicam and drinking lots of water. Hoping I can kill this thing.

What I hate the most about being sick is not really being sick but how you get it. I showed up at work 2 days ago and found out that my coworker had been sick and was still coughing. I barely work with her! But somehow she had infected the things at work enough to make the virus spread. UGH! Why can't people be more careful. Like slather themselves with antibacterial lotion. Because that is what I am going to be doing.

Hopefully this will go away soon and I will be feeling better!

Stress fractures and filet mignons

My time at Disneyland brought many adventures, mostly on tours. As most of you know my highest profile guest was Kobe Bryant and Family and I saw them often. Although they weren't my only tours they were quite memorable. Here is one of those memories...

As I stood at the exit of Grizzly River Run I saw a man with a stern look on his face approach me. "Your guests are stuck on the ride," he said. Oh crap I thought. I just got a multi millionaire basketball player stuck on a ride. I had avoided that my whole tour career. I had never gotten anyone stuck on a ride. And here it was. My stress level went from a normal 5 to 10. I dispatched my trusty security officer to take care of Kobe and his one daughter Natalia on the ride while I went up to his wife and other daughter Gianna to explain what was going on.

As I took those steps up the exit to see Vanessa, Kobe's wife, I felt a pain shoot through my foot. I thought nothing of it being in crisis mode. Foot pain. Who cares? I have people I need to take care of! I approached Vanessa carefully not knowing how she would respond to the news her family was stuck on a ride. Luckily she was forgiving, she was a seasoned Disneyland guest. But they were getting hungry and they were tired and didn't want to sit down and eat. They wanted something to go. California Adventure was technically closed so getting something there would be a bit hard. And there was no way they would want to go back to Disneyland to eat, being that this was their last ride. I did have one option, a 5 star restaurant inside the nearby hotel, called the Napa Rose. But I didn't know if 5 star restaurants had take out.

Since everyone was busy getting Kobe off the ride it was up to me to make this happen. I walked, as fast as allowed by Disney standards, with pain shooting through my foot at every step to the Napa Rose. I walked in and asked if they did take out. They did!! I took the number for the direct line to the Napa and hurried back to Vanessa with the menu. She gave me the order two filet mignons butterflied two orders of hand mashed garlic potatoes and two orders of macaroni and cheese. As she told me this I thought "what the heck are "butterflied" filet mignons?" I mean I know what a filet mignon was but what does butterflied mean? Well I was about to find out if this was even an option. I gave the Napa a call gave they order word for word as she had said to me. The Napa seemed to understand so I was fine.

After a few minutes the multi million basketball player and daughter emerged. And they were fine. We pulled up the car, picked up the food and they were off. And that shooting pain in my foot I found out was a stress fracture. Stress from the tour is what I thought...but not likely said the doctor. I was off my feet and answering phone calls in the phone room for four weeks. So no tours for me. Stress be gone!

What's your status?

I was deeply disturbed the other day when I found out my cousin was pregnant via facebook. It is not so much as her having 5 kids and that she is only a month older then I am, more that I had to find out about it along with the rest of the world. I saw her a month ago IN PERSON, she told other people then, why put it on facebook talking about her pregnancy headaches?

I know this is a bit of the pot calling the kettle black because I broke the news to the world I had been fired from Disney on Facebook. That was different though. I couldn't fight through the sobs to even speak.

I guess I am old fashion. I guess I like to talk to people still. You know like face to face have a conversation. Or even talk to someone on the phone. I like to hear people laugh...not just a lol or :)

Facebook is good to use to keep up with those people you wouldn't keep up with without facebook. But note to my close friends and family. Feel free to give me a call.

It has been a long time coming

This blog has been something I have wanted to do all year. But when I lost my job I was advised not to post my views on something so public. Because possibly someone wouldn't hire me because of what they found. So I put it off...until now.

Now I have been hired by the Hilton to check their guests in and answer odd questions...which will be posted here in the future. I also have an all new set of guests to deal with. It's a little more intense then Disneyland as in they don't go away for a few days :/ Which I will post here. And since I no longer work for the mouse Disneyland stories will be posted here also. You might catch a Kobe Bryant story or two.

So stayed tuned everyone this is the wildest story of my life ever told.
